About Substance Abuse

Confianza, with its focus on Substance Abuse/Misuse focuses on the mental well-being of Latino youth utilizing our Luz y Claridad model (Familias Fuertes, Confianza, and Youth Mental Health First Aid) with an added emphasis and information regarding substance abuse/misuse.

Through this program parents/caregivers report an improved relationship with their youth as they learned nurturing skills and techniques that support their children. Youth also share they have an increased appreciation for their caregivers. Both caregivers and youth agree that through this program they are better able to cope with stress and problem solving.
